SP Goodies!

Today, I got my package from JellySlug, my upstream from the knitty Harry Potter SP round! I'm extremely excited about this. Everything about this package rocks, including the packaging itself. I mean, a velvet pouch, a shiny pouch with velvet on it, and a little package tied with string? That's already darn wizardly, no doubt about it!
And yes, that's a Ravenclaw bookmark. Because you know, us Ravenclaw types need lots of those, so they're always appreciated. This one is special, though, on account of being knit!

What's inside the pouches, you ask? OK, no fair making you wait (I know I couldn't).

Yum. Harry Potter-themed candy. I'm still a little suspicious of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, but I'll try them eventually. There's sock yarn for my very own pair of Ravenclaw socks, and... gasp... Mountain Colors sock yarn, complete with a beautiful pattern. You have no idea how often I've petted this stuff! I've always wanted to try it but kept putting it back for financial reasons. Now I get to knit my very own socks in that gorgeous colorway.

Thank you so much, Slug!

Beautiful yarn, and what a well wrapped package! I love it when SPs put so much thought in.

I really want to try the beans, but funny, I'm put off too. The thought of bogey and vomit is intriguing but still revolting!

That's so lovely! I got an amazing package from my pal, as well.

Can't wait to see what you make with the yarn!

Love the sock yarn and the bookmark!

mmmm these SP things look good.
Regarding your question about the My Little Pony episode - I think someone gets lost in the dark forest - either that or it was a Strawberry Shortcake episode. Anyways she literally cowers in the corner (with her eyes glued to the screen of course)

What a great surprise! The every-flavour beans aren't that bad, but there are a few that are pretty gross. Someone who was brave enough to eat the scary flavours just said that they all taste like cheese. (I'm not sure I believe him...)

Ok, I think I find the name of your SP just as cool as your haul!

The Bertie Botts beans aren't as scary as the ones in the books! You used to be able to buy chocolate frogs too and I used to live off those. I wonder if they'll reintroduce them with the new book coming out.

What a great package! I love the way it was all wrapped up! Are those beans different than the Jelly Belly ones? I saw some of the flavors were things like grass and booger and soap. Do they really taste like that? Too afraid to try them myself! Weak stomach hehehe

oh wow! lots oh cool goodies! seidling sent me some HP surprises, but I haven't had the guts to try the bertie botts. I think I'm going to get some regular jelly bellies and alternate just in case I get a yucky one. - zuma

The beans are color-coded, and you can skip the icky-sounding ones (a lot of them are normal flavors). The grass ones are actually kind of good, but the spaghetti ones are the grossest to me. Oh, and the Chocolate Frogs have been re-released, with different cards than the first batch had.

Glad you liked the package, Batty!
