This is so depressing. I was almost done with one sock pal sock when I realized the following facts:
1. I'd dropped part of a cable near the cuff.
2. In the Amethyst Stripe yarn, the cables are pretty much invisible.
So I frogged. The socks are 'due' soon, but I just couldn't see myself sending out something I wouldn't be happy to receive in the mail. Tonight, I'll rest, tomorrow, I'll swatch in the other purple to evaluate how things will look, then make up my mind. Ugh!

Oh that is a bummer!! Sending good sock knitting vibes your way! hugs!
Ugh. I feel your pain. But I'm sure your swap pal will appreciate that you cared enough to start over rather than fake it! (((hugs)))
Hey, don't sweat! I'm fighting the same fight with your socks here... take it easy.
Sorry to hear about your sock. I would have done the same thing, painful as I'm sure it was. Have a good rest day!
Ohhh, poor you - I so know what you're going through! But sometimes it's just best frogging a project and starting anew - things will go way more smoothly this time!
Oh man!! Sorry to hear the socks are a loss. I wouldn't ba able to mail off socks to someone that I myself didn't like either. Here's some quick knitting vibes comin your way. :)
:(
Sorry it didn't work out how you intended.

Awww :(
Sometimes you just have to frog.
Sorry you had to frog! :( But just think, the next pair will be even better. :)
Yeah that sucks, but I'm with cpurl...your pal will totally appreciate that you've gone thru so much trouble to knit them the best socks!
What a pain. Hopefully it will work out with the next one.
Never mind, I'd have done the same thing!
Do you know what the latin means on my latest blog post? It was carved into an archway in Amsterdam. I must upload the photo.
Of course, the writer is completely fair.
