Thank you all for your kind words about my Circle Socks. I have talked to my sister, and she says she wants socks that are so bright your eyes hurt. The more I look at the socks she's getting, the more I'm convinced they're exactly right. But those are not the only socks I have around the house right now.
For one thing, here is my second Feet First sock. The Panda Cotton is a lovely yarn, it is soft, it has great stitch definition, the colors are pretty, and it has incredible drape. But herein lies the problem. It's more drapy than elastic, and I think I'd rather use it for a shawl rather than a pair of socks. Don't get me wrong, these are going to be very pretty socks. It's just that I like stretchy, tightly-spun sock yarn. Also, it's cotton. Very soft cotton, but it still doesn't have a lot of give. Part of the reason these are taking so long is that my wrists hurt after I knit more than 8 rows.
Because one pair of socks in a yarn that has no give isn't enough, I had to get the August kit from the Tofutsies sock club. I'm usually a process knitter, but when I saw the socks in the picture, I just had to have them. I also ordered some Rosewood Sox Sticks because you can never have enough sock needles, and these are very pretty. I'll let you know how they feel when I try them.
This is not a new picture, but it occurred to me that I had never shown you a shot of my vegan chocolate-chocolate chip muffins. OK, they're more cupcakes than muffins. Still, they're amazing, they're incredibly chocolaty and moist, and they have better texture than anything I've ever made with dairy. Repeat? You bet!
Something else I never showed you is our newly-painted dining room. As you can see, it's a dark burgundy color, and I love it. It's elegant. It has that Victorian bordello touch. I think it's the prettiest room in the entire house now.
Oops, I have to run down to the kitchen to stir the pizza sauce. More knitting content next time... probably more socks. I'll work on my sweaters eventually, I swear I will!

I've been thinking of cotton socks for myself, but that non-stretchiness is exactly what has stopped me so far...
Our bedroom is a similar color, I love it.
Can you post the recipe? My friend's daughter is severely allergic to a whole lot, and I'm always on the lookout for potentially safe, tasty recipes...
(How's that for a point-by-point sort of response?)
I thought the same thing when I looked at the Panda yarn at my LYS. It would make a nice shawl, though, maybe a shawlette for those cooler fall mornings.
I would love the recipe for those muffins/cupcakes. I'm always on the look-out for good dairy-free recipes.
I'm glad your sister will like the socks :) The muffins look delicious! And I love your dining room, it looks great.
Victorian bordello, heh. Nice oxymoron. :) Our former bedroom was that color and I loved it.
Those almost look like just muffin-tops...the best part!
I really love the color of those socks...
I'm not usually a chocolate person (I know, blasphemy), but those muffins look downright delectable! And I love the color of the dining room!
Ohhh I love your dining room color! I've always wanted that in my bedroom though ;). I have 1 pair of Panda socks and love them! So soft wash after wash, in fact I have the same colorway. Yeah, it is a PIA to knit them, but I got 2 more pairs to go in the stash...so oh well. I like the name of those socks "Toe Jam" hehe! Muffins look really good too!
Yummy muffins!! Yum! And I love the color of the dining room! Just fabulous!!
Keep the pretty socks coming too :)
I love your dining room. I'd love to do something like that, but we need light walls to reflect the light in this gloomy little house. :-)
Now I'm just going to drool over your cookies... ;-)
those socks are crazy and the others are quite pink for you...
some people are knitting with the patons stretch socks (cotton based) seems like the thing - may do for my big gurl.
The dining room looks beautiful! I can't wait to see those "toe" socks knitted up. I've always wanted to knit a pair like that.
Dairy is overrated, especially in baking. Again with the cake! On a T-shirt seen today: "Muffins are just ugly cupcakes." I once had a bedroom that I painted that color, only it was teal, if that makes any sense. Color is underrated.
Please mail me some of that chocolatey goodness. mmmm.
I love that color too!
That is the exact same color I want to paint one of the dinning room's (if you can call that tiny space that) wall. I love the way yours look!
