It's starting to look like yarn!

Thanks to the wonderful advice I have received at knitty.com, here's my spinning improvement. We just got back from a 3 day trip, and I thought I'd give this another try. It's my second spinning attempt. I'm so happy because...
It's starting to look like yarn!

Here it is, all wound up on my spindle. The tufts are the much thicker, much more irregular results of my first spinning attempt, not entirely hidden by the much thinner layer of new... yarn! I still can't get over the fact that I just made something that is beginning to look like yarn.

Next: Pictures of my knitting WIPs for the knitty blog stalkers. Maybe even a FO, the Lace Blanket of Doom is nearing completion.

I made yarn!!!!

Ahem. Sorry. Just had to say it one more time.

You made yarn! you made yarn!!

My spinning teacher told me that, in her years of teaching, it takes 7 hours of practice for a newbie to "get it". I've got about 4 hours to go...

You made yarn!! go you!! Looks a heck of a lot better than mine did, I'll post it sometime for a good laugh!!

Quilting is fun, sometimes a lot of work, sometimes not...unless something else catches your fancy like knitting has! :)

I'm afraid if I started to make yarn, I'd never get away. From it. But it looks like fun, and really soft.
BTW, did you see how many of those WIP's were on cables with no needles? I have the Denice Needles and the Knit Picks Options with extra cables. The only downside is "did I make sure to note which size needles I was using?"

I am tempted to try spinning but I'm afraid I might like it. :)
