Blah

I've been feeling too blah to knit much of anything. This is making me feel particularly bad because I should be working on the socks for my sock pal. She deserves wonderful socks, and it isn't her fault that I'm feeling blah.
On the bright side, I got gauge! Don't know what happened, but I've gone from being a tight knitter to being a loose knitter. At least some of the time. With these socks, I had to go down a needle size. Now I'm using size 0 Addi Turbos. Yes, I'm doing Magic Loop! This is exciting. Not only are these my very first 'real' size 0 needle socks, they are also my very first ML project ever. I guess I'm ambitious.

The other interesting thing I have discovered is that when I feel too blah to do any knitting, I get the urge to spin. For some reason, spinning is even more soothing than knitting. Perhaps because it doesn't require me to concentrate on a pattern. All I have to do is sit there, spin the spindle, and let the yarn slip through my fingers. It's very restful.

Now I want a wheel.

Congrats on trying out magic loop! I haven't tried that or toe up yet, but I may at some point. I've been into knitting lately but I'm such a slow knitter it really doesn't seem like I'm getting anywhere!

I envy you on the ML practice. I have the needles, yarn, and booklet... but have yet to try out the method ;)

Hm but wouldn't a wheel just perpetuate your blah moods? ;-)

Congrats on ML. I've never done it, but I did just finish my first sock on size 0s. I'm just as slow a sock knitter on those so hey, nothing lost!

Yay for being loose! Ummm, well,, you know what I mean. ;)

Size zeros? I bought size one circs and cringed. I have ambitions to knit a bunch of socks this year. Well see how far that actually gets me.

Bez id sending me a spindle to try spinning so maybe I can join you on the spinning adventure. I try not to be too creative or do anything that requires alot of thought becasue I screw up so I can understand how you feel. Hopefully those blahs will pass soon. :)

Ha ha. I meant to say I try not to do anything that requires alot of thought WHEN I HAVE THE BLAHS. Left that part out. Hehe.

I used the ML method to make my Odessa, and it worked really well--plus I felt very clever.

As for the blahs, I understand. Spin your heart out if that's what you feel drawn to. Your Sock Pal will get great socks... eventually, and I'm sure she would want you to take care of yourself.

You should get a wheel. You can sometimes find them on sale or for a good price. I love my Majacraft Rose--great wheel, and she can do anything.

Spinning helps with the blahs. So does snow. Do a snow dance and see if you get any.

I've got the blahs too. I don't know where you're at, but I'm in the Midwest and I'm blaming mine on the weather. Heres to warmer days!

I hear you with the blahs, I am really struggling with the desire to knit right now, too. Everything feels a bit like a chore.

Ha Ha! It's all addictive. Next thing we know, we'll see pix of a wheel on your blog.

If you want to try out a wheel, I have one sitting dusty in the corner. You are welcome to borrow any time.

Exactly!

Thanks for all your fab comments on mine, it's nice to feel connected despite being 'severed'.

Sorry you're feeling blah! I hope things have perked up since Saturday.

I'm a big fan of retail therapy. Go on, get the wheel. ;)
