Fetchings

First FO of the new year! I started and finished this pair of Fetchings in about a week. One of my work friends lost all of her fingerless gloves, so I made her some. Here's the right Fetching:

And here's the left Fetching.

Boring Details:
Pattern: Fetching
Needles: US #4
Yarn: Lambs Pride Superwash Worsted -- my favorite of their yarns so far!
Color: Frosted Fuchsia
Comments: I added a row of cables both at the wrist and at the finger section for a more covered look. Bound off in pattern, not in picots, but didn't block to get a similar rolly effect.

Coming up: Batty tries to spin thicker-than-usual yarn. Who'd have thought spinning thick yarn could be difficult? My first attempt with a spindle certainly didn't point in that direction.

We definitely need fingerless mitts in our offices right now - if your office/cube is anywhere near a window, it is frigid!

Great job - I like the raspberry colour.

Love the Fetchings. I still have yet to make these. They are so lovely. You picked a nice color for your friend!

Those are super cute! You know, I always end up having to add a cable at both the wrist and fingers, I feel like it is too short otherwise!

very nice fetchings!

btw, there are lots of ways to do a cabled yarn, but the 4 strand cable i did was spin 4 bobbins of singles. do two 2ply yarns with lots of plying twist, then ply those yarns together in the same direction as the singles twist.

i hope that made some sense.
