Midwest Moonlight (Red Scarf Project)

Unisex. Ahem. Well, the geometric lace pattern is kind of unisex, right? I can see a guy wearing this scarf, but then again, I've also seen the occasional guy who looked darn good in a man skirt. So maybe I'm not the best judge of what a regular guy would wear.

But I'm sending this scarf anyway!

Closeup of it blocking (the even squares on the side will revert back to being tilted once I take out the blocking wires):

Pattern Details:
Pattern: Midwest Moonlight from Scarf Style
Yar: Caron Simply Soft
Needles: US #8
Dimensions: Length was about 62" unblocked, it's probably grown an inch or two since. Sorry, I
feel too lazy to crawl around and measure the width!

Talk about procrastiknitting! I'm sending this off tomorrow morning. I hope it gets in by the 31st.

And now, I have nothing on the needles. Time to start Jespere's socks and Mr. Batty's sweater!

I don't know about unisex, but I like the non-frilly look of this lace! It manages to be ephemeral and graphic at the same time. Nicely done!

Me too - I finished my scarf weeks ago, but I've been working on a second, and plan to send them both tomorrow Priority Mail. Good luck to both of us! I like your scarf!

What a great idea to do this in Caron Simply Soft. I have Scarf Style, but have been a bit paralyzed, not wanting to knit something in anything other than the "perfect" yarn. CSS won't be the final version, but it's a great way to practice the pattern and get a soft yet inexpensive scarf out of it. I always have CSS around for kid slippers and the like. It looks great!

Wow that turned out great!

The only problem with the Red Scarf Project: every time I see ANYONE wearing a red scarf I think "Oh hey! Look! An orphan!"

I like that scarf--it's manly yes!
And I'm mailing scarf tomorrow too. Nevermind it's been sitting on the chair for the past 2 weeks or so...

Beautiful!

And don't worry, the site just said they had to be sent out in January...so as long as they receive them by the 5th or so, I'd imagine they'll be fine! At least I sure hope so, cause I just dropped off 20 more scarves from several of our groups that will be fed-exed out tomorrow. (Local business is paying shipping since they get to Fed-ex so cheaply).

It's extremely interesting. I like it.

I hope your arm is now unhooked!

the scarf looks fabulous.

thank you so much for all your comments on my blog in the past couple of months they have been wonderful to read.

as for the airline, we flew zoom and it didn't seem to matter what airline you were taking as they made everyone size down to only one carry on. we had no problems when flying out of canada so it may just happen on outbound flights from Britain.
